Our Team
Joan Aldis, M.Ed. RP, C.C.C.
I am registered psychotherapist and I have practiced for over 30 years primarily with post-secondary students at King’s University College, Algonquin College and Western University. As the former director of Counselling & Student Development at King’s University College, my role included providing therapy to students and supervising the therapy team. I have extensive experience counselling and supporting people who identified as having disabilities. Throughout my career I have also maintained a small private practice with a focus on grief and loss, workplace harassment, and career/life transitions including retirement.
My approach to counselling is person-centered, trauma informed and sensitive to cultural, gender and social circumstances. I believe that all of us have the capacity to heal from loss, neglect, abuse and adverse life circumstances. Together we will work to help you find comfort, resolve emotional distress, clarify decisions, and strengthen relationships. Whatever your situation or history, I offer my experience, compassion and knowledge to guide you in your journey.
